It is 'The Dumbing Down' for me. I'm especially fond of the progressions within the track musically; from the spoken-word of the intro and the general sparseness of the remainder, all of which still evoking more feel and passion (a sense of foreboding even) than the majority of music these days. It has a film soundtrack quality to it; in the sense that it promotes an internal feeling, contemplative, giving the listener a series of unknown images that can only be constructed by the mind feeding off the ambience of the track. The lyrics, of course, can be equally ambiguous in their interpretation, and it's obvious to assume that it's generally about the state of the public's acceptance of mass-produced media (be it music, television, literature etc). Plus, it has loud guitars.

Excellent, thanks for the feedback - I'd say mine would be Still Waters as I enjoy the contrast of the Nick Cave vibed verse with the ethereal chorus, and then it kicks off at the end, great lyrics from Patterson on that also

'False Light' nearly won out as my favourite, and is a damn-near close second. All in all it's a fine album, and I'm very excited to hear the follow-up. The music scene is lacking of intelligent 'mood' music, so this is a welcome breath of fresh air.

Automata is my favourite song.. lyrics and music are legend for me... I was in charge with the piano and it's the best I've ever done.

for me its a hard to pick one song off the album as i have quite a few i like considering i cant just listen to just a few once the brink starts its not off until its finished but for me if i had to pick i would say the 14 min epic that is the brink reprise just for the haunting sound it gives and also reminds me of pink Floyds atom heart mother a bit but as for song with lyrics i would have to say Alternate
