I'm pleased to announce the recruitment of singer/guitarist Simon Flatley into the Alternative 4 fold. Simon joined up with us for 'The Obscurants' recording sessions last month, making a vital contribution to the shape of the album. I really feel that we have raised the bar with this record, and getting a new voice into the mix has been a key factor. This has seen the departure of Mark Kelson from the band. Best wishes and good luck to Mark & The Eternal for the future.
Looking forward to the New Year and an exciting new musical chapter. Best wishes!
Duncan Patterson

Yeah, I like that. His solo work already sounds like it could interact with your music quite nicely (albeit, potentially, more commercially).

Best wishes also from here! I can't wait for the new Album, so curious about that! I hope it will have, still, that particular dramatic shade typical of Duncan's Music. So... I do hope the new voice will fit in that sense.

I do hope the new voice will fit in that sense. Simon's voice is more suited to my style than anyone I have worked with before. Hopefully you'll like the album. Personally I think its a belter

We have just re-recorded some vocals on tracks from The Brink too Bonus tracks on the new album? Yeah, just a couple that are worth redoing. The original reason I was after a second vocalist was to cover the deeper range. Something that was missing on The Brink. We have a couple of interesting cover versions for bonus tracks too. The originals are poles apart, but they work somehow

I won't ask what the covers are, as I think it'll be a nice surprise. Suffice to say, you usually choose unlikely songs, which is how all good covers start; see Tori Amos' 'Raining Blood' or Johnny Cash's 'Hurt'.
